Steve Allert,
M.A.
Steve’s
humanitarian instincts have been fostered
by his many years living and traveling
in developing countries. His preference
to immerse himself in local cultures
has developed not only his cultural
sensitivities, but also linguistic
and culinary skills. Steve's professional
background has been primarily as a
Project Manager on technology implementation
initiatives for telecommunications
companies and non-profit organizations.
He currently consults independently
as a researcher, technical writer
and editor. Steve holds a Masters
Degree in International Management
Studies from the University of Texas
at Dallas and graduated from the Defense
Language Institute in Monterey, California

Elias Darius
Elias is currently
a student from Divine Word University,
Madang Papua New Guinea doing his
final year of studies in Health Management.
He is originally from Menyamya District,
located in the remote highlands of
Morobe Province. He has experience
working with international health
care programs through the Australian
Agency for International Development
(AusAID) and the PNG National Health
Department. Elias has a simple motto
in life: “To help those in need
help themselves.” He likes working
with different ethnic groups in order
to learn new life styles and listen
to their problems. Elias enjoys serving
as a volunteer for the Kristus Center
and looks forward to help carry out
the mission and philosophy of Kristus
PNG by creating user friendly environments
with the local people and helping
to provide services in the most needed
areas.

Bruce Grant,
PhD
President
Bruce
is a cultural anthropologist who applies
his profession to serving others. He
embraces a simple outlook on life: live
free, see the face of God in all people,
and always be open to new ways of human
understanding. Before fully dedicating
himself to the humanitarian work of
the Kristus Center, he served as a senior
science officer in the U.S. Public Health
Service Commissioned Corps, working
primarily in the areas of international
development, substance abuse, and mental
health. Bruce brings to the Kristus
Center an intrepid spirit of adventure
and a passion to explore what it means
to be fully human. |

Alan Sorkin,
PhD
Treasurer
An
internationally known health economist,
Alan is currently Chair of the Department
of Economics at the University of
Maryland Baltimore County. He holds
adjunct faculty positions with the
Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and
Public Health and the University of
Maryland School of Medicine.
