The Philippines is an archipelago in Southeast Asia between the Philippine and South China Seas. It is roughly the size of Arizona with a population of more than 80 million people.

With seed funding provided by First Lutheran Church (Ellicott City, Maryland) the Kristus Center is implementing a distance learning project with Abatan Rural Hospital located in Benguet Province of northern Luzon. The Abatan Rural Health Center serves tribal communities throughout the remote and rugged Cordilleras and is often their only source of medical help.
