Yagaum Distance Learning and Resource Center, PNG
Papua New Guinea is an island nation in the South Pacific about the size of California. It is a beautiful and rugged land that remains remarkably untamed. About five million people live in Papua New Guinea and 85% of the population resides in rural areas.Kristus is helping to improve health care programs at Yagaum Rural Health Center located in the Madang Province. 

With funding provided by Christ Lutheran Church in Baltimore, the Kristus Center is assisting hospital rehabilitation efforts by developing a Distance Learning and Resource Center. The first priority of the Center is the training of community health workers and nurses to support them in their efforts to improve the nutrition of women and children living in the surrounding rural villages.
